IWR6843AOP: Understanding adcOutputFmt in adcCfg and adcbufCfg.

Hi expert,

There are two commands adcCfg and adcbufCfg used in the mmwave sdk demo project and the parameter adcOutputFmt is used in both commands.

My questions are:
1. What is the image part? if adcOutputFmt in adcCfg is set to complex 1x and adcOutputFmt in adcbufCfg is set to 0 (complex). Is that 0 for all samples?
2. When is the complex 2x should be used preferred than complex 1x for adcCfg command.

Hi Tony,

To answer your questions:

1. For adcOutputFmt in adcCfg and adcbufCfg, only complex modes are supported in the demo, so you must use those parameters. See: Page 20 of the SDK user guide:

2. There is no SNR benefit in using complex 2x mode, there is generally not any need to use this. Complex 1x is preferred.

A1: What about if we consider these two parameters out of the demo project, let’s say for general use cases?

A2: I think there should be a reason or use case for supporting complex 2x mode. Would you please give some examples or its targeting scenarios?
