IWR6843AOPEVM: ASK for BLUETOOTH DEMO SOURCE FILES/Project

Part Number: IWR6843AOPEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2650, LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1

Hello,

I am professor  in a french university. I proposed to my student to explore the IWR6843AOPEVM board  for custom application (The idea of the project is to make body/objects detection and  speed measuring for robotics applications.)

Reading the evaluation module schematics, we see a CC2642R1 chip for serial over Bluetooth communications.

When enabling the serial to bluetooth using the DIP Switch, we are able to see the bluetooth device, but unable to pair with it using Android & Iphone Smartphones.

We didn't find the source code of the CC2642R1 program, so my question is : where can we get this code ? the CCS project ?

(we've already got some jtag XDS110 Emulator coming from CC2650 launchpad board, I hope that they allow to update the code if required).

Thanks for your help,

Best regards,

Thierry

  • Hello,

There are no binaries that are flashed to the CC2642 such that you can connect to them and get any data out, or use the BLE connection to configure the radar device. You will be able to use a LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1 LP and the XDS110 to flash/debug the CC2642 on the IWR6843AOPEVM. This process is not super straight forward and involves making some HW mods as described in the thread below:

    https://e2e.ti.com/support/sensors-group/sensors/f/sensors-forum/1070004/iwr6843aopevm-bluetooth-connection-password

There currently are no binaries or source code to share that can be flashed to the IWR6843AOPEVM. Although we do plan to give more formal resources for this procedure in the near future. In the mean time I would focus on implementing the provided examples that are provided on the BLE LP and make sure you can flash/debug the CC2642 on the IWR6843AOPEVM. This will mean that once we can provide a server/client binaries that you can immediately get up and running.

    Best regards,

    Connor Desmond
