Hello TI team,

I am trying to connect multiple (two for started) Radar kits to one PC.

After looking into the few threads posted more than two years ago in the forum and the DCA1000 CLI documents I have few questions:

1- Since few years have passed since the last threads, what are the most recent/best resources to cover the process of connecting of multiple DCA1000/AWR1642 EVMs to one PC?

2- Using the CLI eeprom command I was able to reconfigure the IP address and communicate using the command window, but the FPGA version changed from 2.7 (shown on mmW studio) to 0.0 (using the CLI command fpga_version). Is that expected in such a scenario? How to verify a successful IP address change?

3- How to set the parameters and start scanning after the IP address is changed? Can we use the newer versions of mmW studio after changing the IP address?

Hi.

Multiple AWR EVM+DCA1000EVM with single PC may not possible as all the existing relevant tools are build for communicating to single instance of device setup.

Is there any other way to connect multiple AWR EVMs to a single PC? maybe using an external MCU instead of the DCA1000?

We need to post-process simultaneous data using MATLAB from multiple EVMs to do multi-point sensing.

Hi Ahmad,

With AWR1642, you can do basic processing within device and stream intermediate result from device to PC for muliple devices.

And for streaming intermediate result ( 1-FFT, 2-FFT etc.) You can use different interface compare to UART like spi or CANFD,

And for that you need different module or MCU which convert that data interface to USB to pc.

Hi Ahmad,

Here we have an application which replace UART with CAN for OOB demo to stream object result.

You can modify this to connect any user data (FFT intermediate results) to CAN interface.
