IWR1642BOOST: Trouble in demo run

Hello,

We have IWR1642BOOST mmwave sensor and we have not able to run that demo.
We have 5v/3A adaptor for a power supply of that board.

We have some question regrading that.

1. Which software use for run demo? mmWave Demo Visualizer or People Counting visualizer or any other?

2. we are not able to find out_of_box demo bin file from its toolbox path. check screenshot.

3. We find demo code bin form SDK on path(mmwave_sdk_03_05_00_04\packages\ti\demo\xwr16xx\mmw\xwr16xx_mmw_demo.bin). load that file. run mmwave Demo visualizer follow step and connect it. we got data on console like this.

 2086 line in mss_main.c is

 

can any one give us that which code we have to load and which software we have to use for demo? what step we have to follow for run the demo successfully.

some additional question.

1. what is maximum distance at which sensor detect object?

2. what could be the smallest size of object which can be detect by sensor?

    Hi Dinkar,

    I believe the issue of not being able to run the out of box demo for the IWR1642BOOST can be fixed by downloading an old version of our toolbox (4.9) and using sdk version 2.0.0.04. 

    You can download an older version of the toolbox by going to the toolbox online and selecting the three dots (highlighted below) and then selecting manage versions (highlighted below)

    Under manage versions selection version 4.9 (see below)

    Then select apply. You are now viewing version 4.9 of our toolbox. Select the three dots next to industrial toolbox and select download (see below).

    You are now ready to work with an older version of our toolbox where the out of box demo for 16xx works better. This version of the out of box demo for 16xx works with SDK 2.0.0.04. This can be found here under download options --> previous versions (see below).

    this will work with the mmWave demo visualizer. The visualizer will give you an understanding for the capabilities of the radar device including how your chirp configuration can effect maximum detectable distance and smallest detectable object.     Thanks for quick response.

    I Download Toolbox version 4.9 and SDK 2.0.0.4 as you mansion.

    Load bin file from path(C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_02_00_00_04\packages\ti\demo\xwr16xx\mmw\xwr16xx_mmw_demo.bin) using uniflash but demo not run. there is an error.

    Check mss_main.c line 2102 and take it screenshot.

    there is a same problem as previous.

    this demo guide mention that "ES2.0 device only". so i check that difference form link("https://e2e.ti.com/support/sensors-group/sensors/f/sensors-forum/716263/iwr1642boost-es-2-0-label-where-is-this-label-found"). i check on my board IC. it is shows "XIWR1642 QG" , it mean that it is ES1.0 type device, so is this demo code compatible for this board?

    I would suggest you purchase an ES2.0 type device (if you order here: link you will receive an ES2.0 device). This device is the supported device for our 16xx demos.
