AWR2243: About cascade connection of AWR2243

Hi team,

Cascade two AWR2243s and use AM2732 for radar computation.

-AM2732 has an "OSC_CLK_OUT_AUDIO" oscillator output, which is the correct connection, 1 or 2?

    1. oscillator--> input to "CLKP/M" of AM2732 and output "OSC_CLK_OUT", -->AWR2243(master)-->AWR2243(Slave)

    2. oscillator--> input to "CLKP/M" of AWR2243(master) and output "OSC_CLK_OUT", -->AWR2243(Slave)-->AM2732

-Where does the "FE1_REFCLM" input signal of AM2732 connect to AWR2243?

-What is the frequency of that signal?

-Where does the "HW_SYNC_FE1" output signal of AM2732 connect to AWR2243?

-What is the frequency of that signal?

           Please see my response below:

    1. AM2732 has an "OSC_CLK_OUT_AUDIO" oscillator output, which is the correct connection, 1 or 2?

        1. oscillator--> input to "CLKP/M" of AM2732 and output "OSC_CLK_OUT", -->AWR2243(master)-->AWR2243(Slave)

        2. oscillator--> input to "CLKP/M" of AWR2243(master) and output "OSC_CLK_OUT", -->AWR2243(Slave)-->AM2732

    TI: OSC_CLK_OUT_AUDIO is an output. This is connected to a J14 (SMA) and can be used for debugging or measurement of the oscillator clock of AM273.

    This is not connected or suppose to connect anywhere.

    -Where does the "FE1_REFCLM" input signal of AM2732 connect to AWR2243? What is the frequency of that signal?

    TI: This connects to MCU CLK OUT or OSC CLK OUT from Front END that is AWR2243. This would be 40MHz.

    -Where does the "HW_SYNC_FE1" output signal of AM2732 connect to AWR2243? What is the frequency of that signal?

    TI: This is DIG SYNC (Frame trigger) from AM273 to AWR2243. This depends on the frame periodicity.

    I am in contact with field application engineers at TI Japan and macnica.

    They said they cannot support AM2732 and AWR2243 cascade connection because they have no knowledge about it, so please ask E2E.

    I am having trouble finding pin information and detailed description of the AM2732 connection to FE in the datasheet.

    We need the information because we cannot design the circuit without the information to use the ASIC.
