AWR6843AOPEVM: Radar Studio Exception

Part Number: AWR6843AOPEVM

Hello,
we are experiencing the following issue. (There are a couple of topics in the Forum reporting the same, unfortunately did not help.)

I performed the following installation steps on my Windows 10 laptop:
- mmwave_studio_02_01_01_00
- 32-bit Matlab Runtime Engine 8.5.1
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2013

When done we launched mmWaveStudio (\mmwave_studio_02_01_01_00\mmWaveStudio\RunTime\mmWaveStudio.exe) and this is what we get:

(The first sentence is in italian and means "File format not valid")

Here is the console output:

Any idea of what might be causing the issue?

Please notice that we already tried to uninstall and reinstall everything several times and no firewall activity is apparently blocking us.

Thanks,
Riccardo Zinutti

  • Hello Riccardo,

Welcome to TI E2E Forums and Thanks for reaching out to us.

Is this the first time you're using and connecting to mmWave Studio? If that is the case, please connect the mmWave Radar board and the DCA1000 board. The hardware connection is required for the first time.

Can you also delete the RSTD folder and try again?

Meanwhile, I will also check with the Studio team if some specific setting causes this error.

    Regards,

    Ishita

  • Hello Ishita,

    thanks for your prompt answer.

We solved the blocking issue in the meantime!

We unchecked the "Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support" box.

If it might help, I indicate how this can be done:
go to Control panel /Region /Administrative/ Change system locale tab
    uncheck the box
    click OK
    click Apply
    restart the PC

This solves the "File format not valid" issue and we are now able to use the software.

We are still encountering the "Index beyond matrix limits" message, anyway, which is not blocking fortunately.
Should you have any solutions you would be welcome.

    Kind regards,
    Riccardo Zinutti
