The FPGA version doesn't show up. According to the rawdatacapture manual, the FPGA version should be displayed as 2.7 or 2.8.
I have followed every step mentioned in the DCA1000 guide but found nothing helpful.

Hi Cesar,
I just encountered the same issue and tried to reflash the FPGA. As per SPRUIJ4A DCA1000EVM user guide, I need to download the programmer from Lattice via http://www.latticesemi.com/programmer When I followed the link, the only programmer version for Windows was v3.12 as shown below.
Programmer Standalone Encryption Pack 3.12 SP1 64-bit for Windows
After downloading, I tried to install the programmer but the downloaded installer reports corrupt file. I tried multiple times but had no luck.
Is there an alternative programmer download location I can use? I am not sure others are experiencing the same issue as me. If so, this is a big blocker.
Thanks for your help.

Hi,
I had a look around Lattice website and checked out a few questions from users. I wanted to include this brief note in case it helps others save some frustration.
It seems something called NGO Encryption Pack may also need to be installed for versions 3.10 and above. I used this link to download and install that. Though it gave an error when I installed, when I retried to install programmer v3.12, it worked perfectly. Another thing that may have made a difference is I unzipped the programmer to a different folder than the default Downloads folder on Windows.
I did not try to reflash the FPGA firmware yet though. I will try that next week and will add to this note if I encounter further errors.

The programmer tool seems to work as expected but I encountered FPGA re-flashing errors, which I talk about in detail in this new thread (without polluting this thread) in case anyone is interested.
Hi Cesar,
I am back again after successfully re-flashing the FPGA. However, this problem still persists. I am still having issues with communication with the FPGA. I included a few screenshots below to describe what I am seeing.
1 - Error messages when I hit "Reset and Configure" after entering "Set up DCA1000" option under SensorConfig in mmWave Studio:
2 - Error messages when I hit "Disconnect" after entering "Set up DCA1000" option under SensorConfig in mmWave Studio:
3 - Error messages when I try to configure the boards using lua script in mmWave Studio:
Please note I have a second identical DCA1000EVM hardware setup with the same radar board that works perfectly using the same lua script.
Can you please help explain what seems to go wrong here? Any suggestions on how to resolve this matter?

Cagri
I am not sure if anybody is reading my threads here at all since I received zero response to them so far (maybe it is because this thread is stale and obsolete). However, I will continue writing and eventually open a new thread by copying and pasting all the information here for others to notice
I tried the same radar hardware set up on another computer and the FPGA configuration worked perfectly as expected ! I also went ahead and successfully captured a few raw ADC samples to confirm everything works. I was able to view the post-processed raw ADC samples as well and all seems to be in order.
The above at least confirms the hardware is in good working order and all the switch and SW configurations I have are as they should be. I am also using the same mmWave Studio versions on both computers so that is not the issue either. This indicates the two computers are not behaving the same for some reason.
I initially suspected that the Ethernet controller may not be working properly so I used two different external USB based ethernet controllers and tried to configure the FPGA with those. However, the same problem persists; I still cannot read the FPGA version still.
Given the above information, do you have any suggestions on what I should look at next? Where is the issue likely to be?

Hi,
Sorry for the delay
If I understand correctly the raw data capture with DCA1000 works fine on a computer but does not work on another computer. Is this correct?
As you mentioned it seems that there is a difference between the two computers.
Do both computers have same OS? Is there a firewall?
Please also see our DCA1000 Debug Handbook

thank you
Cesar
Thanks for the reply Cesar.
The two computers have the same OS (Windows 10). I have already read the Debug Handbook while troubleshooting this problem over the last few days.
Given the information above, can you conclusively confirm that this issue is related to Ethernet communication with the board and nothing else? Though the two computers are managed by the same IT team, there may be a few not so obvious differences that may be causing this issue. Therefore, if you can confirm that Ethernet connection is the issue, I can then pay them a visit to sort this out in person. (I cannot modify some of my computer settings due to IT policies unfortunately)
Thanks for your help.

First, make sure that the ethernet cables are the same in both tests.
In the DCA1000 config, can you try to increase the packet delay to 300.
There could be a difference in the Ethernet HW for the two PCs
thank you
