AWR2944: How to decompress the 1DFFT compressed data on PC

Hi,

My customer want to decompress the compressed 1DFFT data from AWR2944 on PC.

I searched on the forum and found a similar post (see below link), but it is not solved yet.

Currently, the AWR2944 SDK does not include a decompression script.

I will check with the SDK development team if there are any plans to add this in the future

Hi Chris,

Request you to please use the decompression-compression toolbox available on TI resource explorer: Memory Compression (ti.com) . You would need to download the entire toolbox to use this tool.

Akshay,

The tool you shared is for IWR6843.

One customer has already refer to the compression tool, but still met problem ((+) AWR2944EVM: AWR2944 DDMA radarCube decompression problem - Sensors forum - Sensors - TI E2E support forums). Below post is not closed yet.

Hi Chris,

The compression algorithm is same for IWR6843 and AWR2944, i.e, EGE (Exponential Golomb Encoder). I am not sure why that thread was not resolved. Maybe the parameters entered was wrong that's why the customer faced issue.

Chris, can you please request your customer to check using the compression algorithm and let us know if it works else we can check the use-case for customer?
