IWR6843AOPEVM: Store of Range bias calibration results

I'm trying to get the best data out of the radar as possible, as such I am looking to perform the Range Bias and Phase calibration, as outlined in the mmwave sdk (mmwave_sdk_03_05_00_04/packages/ti/demo/xwr68xx/mmw/docs/doxygen/html/index.html)

So far I have:

5cm triangular corner reflector (should be far field at >~1m w/ 60GHz radar)
out of box demo binary from mmwave_industrial_toolbox_4_12_0/labs/Out_Of_Box_Demo
config profile for calibration (mmwave_sdk_03_05_00_04/packages/ti/demo/xwr68xx/mmw/profiles/profile_calibration.cfg)

I have several IWR6843AOP EVM radars, I'm guessing the results of this calibration will not necessarily be the same for all. Are the results of the calibration stored locally on the radars? Or will I need to coordinate radar-specific configs to include their specific calibration results?

Hi Morten,

You are right, this will not be the same for all. When the calibration is run the measurements are written out on the CLI port and they are not stored on the device. These measurements can then be pasted into any CLI configuration where it states compRangeBiasandRxChanPhase.

So, hypothetically, 3 6843aop evm radars will need to have personalized configs even if using the same chirp parameters.

For optimal performance they will. However the device will still work without the calibration, performance will not be optimized but it will still run and detect even small movements.
