Hi,
I was looking for any universal formula for the below parameters:
- Chirp Time
- Chirp Period
- Frame period
- difference between sweep bandwidth and bandwidth
Thanks

Hi Deepu,
Please see this application note on the subject.
For more information, try interacting with our sensing estimator tool.
Thank you,
Angie
Hi Angie,
Actually, I had reviewed the sensing estimator and the pdf document you supplied. Yet, I was unable to locate the actual formula for computation; however, I can see the phrase (chirp time) being used in calculations such as the calculation of unambiguous maximum velocity. The sensing estimator allows for direct reading of values. Aside from that, I couldn't figure out how to determine the frame period.
thanks
Deepu
Hi Deepu,
The chirp time is calculated in the time spent sampling so number of samples / sampling rate. Number of samples and sampling rate are both user inputs.
What do you mean by chirp period? Is this the period of time between chirps? That would be idle time + ramp end time per the graphic in the sensing estimator.
Frame period is set by the user, it is the total frame time.
The sweep bandwidth is the bandwidth the the chirp configuration covers. Based on frequency slope and adc sampling time this can vary.
Also the source code for the sensing estimator is publicly available if you open the tool in gui composer.
Thank you,
Angie
