Will there be a medical grade or high accuracy infrared temperature sensor similar to the TMP006 in the future? If so, any kind of timeline as to when that will be available? Thanks.
Ron,
The TMP006 is the first of a family of IR temp sensors. We will definitely be expanding the portfolio and welcome any feedback you have. Let’s discuss your requirements offline. You can reach me at d-mar1@ti.com

Hi Ron, Daniel
I am very interested in medical application of this sensor too. For a medical grade thermometer, the accuracy is 0.2 degree C, right? if TMP006 or next gen sensor can achieve this accuracy, I can see a great application in medical industry.

I notice there is a sensor from Melexis Technologies, MLX90615, listed at Digikey for $6.34875 @ 2500 pcs. it is a little expensive, Can TI's next release beat this chip by performance/price.
I will ask the same question. is there a time table?
thanks
David
