Hi,

My AWR1843 was mounted on a mobile cart. Why does it always detect objects with a static speed of 2.6 m/s? Normally, I expect it to detect stationary objects matching the speed of my cart. Am I correct?

I'm using the oob demo with this config file and by using the AWR1843boost board .

    Hi Amine,

    I am not able to get a good picture of the issue you are facing. Can you please provide some more info?

    1. What do you mean by "Static speed"?
    2. Is the radar detecting velocity of static and moving objects when the cart is at rest?
    3. In a static scene (where no object is moving except for the cart), what are the velocities of the detected objects? It should be something close to the velocity of the cart (AKA radar) but in the opposite direction.
    4. What happens if there are moving objects in your scene?
    5. What is your velocity resolution?
    6. What speeds are you moving your cart at?

    Hi Kaushik,

    Thank you, please find below my answers :

    1. The speed of the detected object is always between 0 m/s and 2.6m/s.(the speed of my cart is 30 Kmph).

    2.  In my scene I have only static objects and when the cart is at rest I detected the obstacle with 0 m/s. 

    3. No I got always a positive values and less than 2.6 ms when my cart was moving at 30 mph.

    4 Always I got a detected object with a speed less than 2.6 ms

    5. the resolution is 2kmph

    6. at 30 kmps

    Hi Amine,

    Can you also confirm if this is the same behavior with slightly different configurations (different max velocity, resolution and speed of cart)? What is the max unambiguous velocity of your vehicle? It is difficult to understand why this is so and a deeper debug maybe required.
