LDC1001: Sensor models

Part Number: LDC1001
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LDC3114

I would like to simulate the behavior of the LDC1001 in ANSYS Simplorer. Is there a sensor model available (Spice, SML, Modelica, VHDL-AMS)?

  • Holger,

We have a Pspice macromodel for the LDC3114, but not the LDC1001.
You can find more info on how to use the LDC3114 model on the E2E LDC3114: Pspice model, raw data mode FAQ page.

We struggle a little bit to understand the most useful behavior and features for sim models of our inductive and capacitive sensors.

The approach we used in the LDC3114 model is to calculate an equivalent inductance for the sensor coil+target in another tool over multiple time steps, and embed the resulting inductance versus time data in a sensor (Spice) model, which in turn provides the input signal to the LDC3114 Spice model.

If you have any feedback or suggestions on how to make more useful and effective models for our inductive or capacitive sensors, and/or pick a more useful simulation tool for those models, please let us know.

    Regards,
    John
