Hello support team,
What is the expected power consumption of AWR2944 if DSP is in off state and R5 core is running?
Do you have any sample code to power off the DSP?
BR,
Andrew

Dear Andrew -
Thanks for the post and welcome to E2E!
Sections 5.5.1.1 & 5.5.1.2 of the AWR2944 Technical Reference Manual has the instructions to power the DSP on/off. (page 2801 and 2802)
https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/spruiv5b/spruiv5b.pdf
I don't see any current consumption values given here in our datasheet for a section of the IC being turned off.
Yes there's nothing in datasheet but I'm sure that TI has done some testing too check for power consumption.
I simply ask to share the average number with us when DSP is off
Andrew-
Sure thing - I will check internally on what we can share and get back to you tomorrow (Monday).
Hello Andrew,
AWR2944 power consumption will vary depending on the Temperature, TX, RX, Duty Cycklle, TX Pout .. etc.
For a typical case of 25C, 50%duty cycle, all TXs and RXs enables, the difference between DSPSS [C66x DSP + HWA] Utilization of 0% and 70%(typical use case) is approximately 50mW. Difference between 0% and 100% is 90mW.
Hope this helps,
E. Shareef
