AWR2944: Clock Comparison for MSS and DSS recommendations from Safety Manual

Part Number: AWR2944

In the clock comparisons for MSS_DCCA, MSS_CCCB as listed in the AWR294x Functional Safety Manual it gives the recommendations for clock monitoring.  In the text highlighted it states that in Step 1 you should monitor XTAL using the DCCB using RCOSC as the reference.  Then in step 2 it says you should use MSS_DCCB to monitor Interface clock - MSS_MCANA_CLK/ MSS_MCANB_CLK/ PLL_CORE_HSDIV0_CLKOUT1 (Ethernet clock source).  How can DCCB be used for both?  Or is the XTAL compared to RCOSC at bootup only?

  • Dear George -

You can also refer to the SDK: C:/ti/mmwave_mcuplus_sdk_04_04_01_02/mcu_plus_sdk_awr294x_09_00_00_15/docs/api_guide_awr294x/EXAMPLES_SDL_DCC.html to get a better understanding of how the monitoring of the clock combinations are supported. You can also check out the monitoring and interface control application notes.
