AWR1843BOOST: AWR2243BOOST

Part Number: AWR1843BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1843, IWR6843ISK, IWRL6432BOOST

Hi. We have bought an AWR1843Boost and I am trying to apply and run the example demos on it. I have been successful running some demos specifically designed for AWR1843; however, I want to apply other example such as "3D human detection". This demo has been provided for device 6843.

Would you please guide me though how I can apply this to our device? How I should change the configuration and image file? Consider me as a beginner in this area. Many thanks.

  • Dear farzad -

Thanks for the post and welcome to E2E. The AWR1843BOOST is operating at a different frequency band, and is targeted towards other application spaces - however I found this post in which it was directed for similar query to yours.

...You will need to modify the 60GHz chirp configuration to match 77GHz. Usually only the Start Frequency and the Slope must be modified, and you will see you may need to change projectspec files.

  • Thanks for your reply. Do I also need to change the bin file? I have flashed this bin file to AWR1843: "C:\ti\radar_toolbox_1_30_01_03\source\ti\examples\People_Tracking\3D_People_Tracking\prebuilt_binaries\3D_people_track_6843_demo.bin".

I have updated the chip config. but when using industrial visualizer, there is no data shown in the figure.

  • Dear farzad -

Thanks for the details - I have asked our software team to have a look - as soon as they respond, I will update you.

  • Farzad -

Moving this over to our software experts to assist you.

  • Hi,

You will not be able to run the People counting demo on the AWR1843BOOST EVM.

You will need to purchase an EVM that supports that demo:

    • IWR6843ISK
    • IWRL6432BOOST

    Before purchasing an EVM, you can check the latest demos and the EVMs that support them in the Radar Toolbox;

    Thank you
