AWRL1432: How to modify AWRL1432BOOST to support BOM Opt mode

Part Number: AWRL1432

Hi,

My customer wants to modify AWRL1432BOOST to test BOM Opt mode. They removed the U19 and L5, but the system seems not work normally.

Must customer remove the capacities which are connected to VNWA?

What else are missing to make AWRL1432 work with only 1.8V and 3.3V? Any way to check if 1.2V have been applied internally correctly?

Thanks,

Chris

  • Hi Chris,

Thanks for reaching out over E2E. Please allow us a day or so to provide a response.

  • Hi Chris,
You can measure across the 1.2V decaps to check whether 1.2V is coming properly or not.

SRAM and DIG supplies are shorted in the AWRL1432BOOST EVM. Which is supplied by 2 different LDOs in BOM optimize mode. Moreover, decaps requirements for the supplies are different in BOM optimized mode and power optimized mode. It is very difficult to convert AWRL1432BOOST EVM (Power optimized) to work as BOM optimized board since it requires trace cutting and changes in decaps. It is recommended to have new board design to test BOM optimized mode.
