MMWAVEPOEEVM: AWR6843AOP and MMWAVEPOEEVM

Part Number: MMWAVEPOEEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR6843AOP

Tool/software:

Hello Team,

I have a pcb that was created by taking the example of TI's reference designs containing the AWR6843AOP chip. I have run various demos on this card. I currently want to use this pcb with the MMWAVEPOEEVM board. My goal is to provide communication between the ethernet mcu and the AWR6843AOP pcb to receive and send data. Which pins from the J9 and J10 connector outputs of the MMWAVEPOEEVM board can I match with the pins on my AWR6843AOP pcb for this bidirectional data transfer. You can find the image of the free pins on my AWR6843AOP pcb in the image below. Pins marked with ''generic no erc'' are free.

Can you provide design support regarding this?

  • Hi ,

Thanks for reaching out over E2E. Please allow us a day or so to provide a response.

  • Hi Duygu,
Do you have 60pin HD connector in your design as present in AWR6843AoP EVM. If yes, please refer MMWAVEPOEEVM Power-Over-Ethernet Solution User's Guide (Rev. A) for the connections. The AWR6843AoP EVM needs to be connected with mmwave IC boost which will provide connectivity to MMWAVEPOEEVM. You can order mmwave IC boost and MMWAVEPOEEVM from ti.com. We only have hardware reference and we don’t have any software support for interfacing AWR6843AoP EVM with MMWAVEPOEEVM. Therefore, I would recommend to use AWR6843AoP EVM with mmwave IC boost which will provide enough peripherals for communication. You can also use DCA1000 EVM for raw data capture.

    Thanks and Regards,

  • Dear Sivasprasad,

I don't have a connector like the one you offer. Frankly, I don't want to use a method that I can use by plugging into the mmwave ICBOOST. I would like to use the AWR6843AOP with the Ethernet interface on a single PCB.

Can you suggest an Ethernet solution that I can use directly with the AWR6843AOP? I can revise the schematic designs on the PCB I designed. In the revised design, the Ethernet solution can be located within the PCB itself. I just couldn't decide which IC(or transceiver, converter and etc.) to use for Ethernet and which connection points I should connect it to with the AWR6843AOP.

I would like to receive your design suggestions.

    Regards,

  • Hi Duygu,
I apologize for the delay in response as I was out of office. I am checking with the team, please provide me a day or so to share the response.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Duygu,
Please find my response below in the attached document. Could you please confirm what is the end application you are targeting for?
