The values of the K0 set are derived empirically based on the expected SNR and are configured in the following file:

\MatlabExamples\4chip_cascade_MIMO_example\main\cascade\paramGen\module_param.m"

the attached screen shot has threshold scaling factor of 6.3 ( which is corresponding to SNR of 8 dB (converted into linear scale 10^(8/10)).

My question:

How threshold factor of 6.3 is converted and Set as "CFAR_CASO_k0 = [5 3 ] ? can you confirm how these values are obtained?

Hi Mani,

Can you confirm the device for which you have this query? You have selected AWR1843 but query is about Matlab script of cascade.

I m currently using AWR6843ISK,since it is matlab query and device does not related.my question is how this CFAR_CASO_k0 = [5 3 ] value is obtained?

please check and confirm it?

hi samhitha,

thanks for your reply.i have referred link provided.it does not address my question.i knew that in CFAR_CASO_K0 = [5 3] ,One value is for Range direction(ie 5 ) and another one for Doppler direction(ie3).

My question is "SNR of 8 db corresponds to --->threshold factor of 6.3 and then it should be CFAR_CASO_K0 = [6.3 6.3] but why CFAR_CASO_K0 = [5 3] and how did you get this values?

these values are used inside TI matlab code ,please refer the previous reply on the same thread and also refer various settings options available part of mmwave studio tool(screenshot attached ).

I knew that in the line CFAR_CASO_K0 = [5 3] ,One value is for Range direction(ie value of 5 ) and another one for Doppler direction(ie value of 3).

Hi Mani,

The k values given here are experimental values. k value should be adjusted based on your requirement. You can adjust CFAR threshold in Miscellaneous options window that shared so that the post processing window (in mmWave Studio) uses the CFAR threshold that you have set. If you want to process the captured data and set the CFAR threshold to 8dB, then you can update the threshold factor to 6.3.
