Tool/software:
I use AWR1843BOOST + DCA1000EVM and want to see radar target images.
I do not have MATLAB.
I have three questions.
(1) Can I use "mmWave Demo Visualizer" to view radar images in a simplified way?
https://dev.ti.com/gallery/view/mmwave/mmWave_Demo_Visualizer/ver/3.6.0/
(2) Do I need to install the mmWave SDK to do so?
https://www.ti.com/tool/ja-jp/MMWAVE-SDK
(3)When using mmWave Demo Visualizer, does the LAN cable connect to the Internet? Or does it connect to the DCA1000EVM?
Sorry for the basic question.
Please someone enlighten me.
Hi,
Thanks for posting. Could you let us know what market and end application you are targeting?
Regards,
Deexith.
Thanks for the reply.
I am a researcher and would like to experiment with this radar system for human detection!
First of all, I want to get a quick radar image to check the performance of the radar, which is why I asked this question!
We are planning to operate at a fixed station.
Before that, we plan to conduct experiments in an anechoic chamber.
I would like to acquire data first to determine the direction of my future research methods.
For this reason, I would like to acquire radar images as quickly as possible, using the simplest method at first.
Does anyone know how to easily get radar images using WR1843BOOST + DCA1000EVM?
Or is it impossible?
Hi, there:
Can you let us know what do you mean by radar images? Do you mean range-Doppler heatmap?
Best,
Zigang
Thank you for your kind reply, sir.
Yes, I am sure you are right. I want to get a range doppler heatmap
Can I use mmWave Demo Visualizer to achieve this purpose?
Yes, you should be able to see the range doppler heatmap if you enable it in the plot selection.
Please be aware that range doppler heatmap is a lot of data to transfer through UART. In order to do that, you will need to slow down the frame rate significantly, for example change to 2 frames per second.
By the way, you can check the OOB demo output at Doxygen documentation in SDK release. You may change the SDK version name to match your download version.
