MMWCAS-RF-EVM: MMWCAS-RF-EVM

Part Number: MMWCAS-RF-EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWRL6432, AWR2243

Tool/software:

Hello,

I have almost similar problem in measuring the distance.

I followed the instruction in the user guide to set up the Cascade EVM. To configure the EVM, I used "Cascade_Configuration_MIMO.lua" and then ran "Cascade_Capture.lua". The object was placed at three distances of 20cm, 48cm and 1m and 30cm, 59cm, and 1.13m were estimated by EVM. Below are the FFT plot from the post-processing of mmWave Studio 2.1.1.0:

Object @ 20 cm

Object @ 48 cm

Object @ 1 m

As you see in the above figures, There are too many peaks at further distances. The environment I was doing measurements was in a long hall way where the width of the hall way is about 1.5m.
What could be the possible reason for seeing many peaks in the FFT plot?

Also, I barely could estimated distances longer than  2 m at all while 2.14 m and 1.66 m were estimated for the object at 1.5 m and 2 m. But I think the default configurations in "Cascade_Configuration_MIMO.lua" should cover these distances.

Thanks
