As a (late) follow-up to original question. The referenced CCSIDE-3710 is rejected.

The reason mainly refer to an attached e-mail. But this e-mail is not available to externs like me.

I would like to know the relevant info from that e-mail, especially if it points to a workaround and/or alternative solution.

    When checking the internal notes, it looks like it was once rejected but then since un-rejected:

    Un-rejecting : This is asking for something different than <id>. It is asking for build configurations to match. 

    The internal status indicates this issue is still open.

    As an extra note: I have seen this problem when the referee project is imported first, then it can't find the referenced project, and thus the config, and just inserts some random config name. And the config name is not re-resolved when the referenced project is later imported. Leaving the reference pointing to a non-existing project.
