Tool/software:
Greetings,
I am working with a IWR6843ISK. I just downloaded and installed mmWave Studio. When I open it the following error pops up: Unable to load DLL 'RadarLinkDLL.dll': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E).
The installation of the fdti drivers was successful and the so called RadarLinkDLL.dll is in C:\ti\mmwave_studio_02_01_01_00\mmWaveStudio\RunTime. I am only using the IWR6843ISK, I am not using any other devices such as the DCA1000 capture card or mmWave Dev Pack/ICEBoost
I have already tried the following in an attempt to fix the issue:
Thankyou very much for your help.
Best Regards.
Hi
Thanks for your query. Please allow us a couple of days to respond.

Hello,
RadarLinkDLL.dll is a file that initializes after a one time check of mmWaveStudio being started up while having a DCA1000 detected. If you try to launch mmWaveStudio and have never connected a DCA1000 before simultaneously, you get this error.
mmWaveStudio is exclusively for capturing raw data. This means unprocessed, unfiltered, dumped complex/real IQ ADC data. Is this the kind of data you are looking for?

Hello,
I was planning on using mmWave Studio to configure the chirps for the radar and extract the data. So far I don't need the Raw data since I just want to configure the radar and take a range and velocity measurements.
If I understood correctly I shouldn't use mmave Studio to set up my Radar, it is only for recording. Then what should I use ?
Thank you very much.
Kind Regards.
Hello,
To design chirps, please use the mmWaveSensingEstimator. You can click the "Advanced Chirp Design and Tuning" tab, copy and paste the contents of a demo's/example's .cfg file into the "Configuration I/O" window, and hit autopopulate. It will print the resulting performance metrics below.

For 6843, start off by downloading SDK3.6 which has core firmware files and one example demo.

And install the Radar Toolbox via web browser to get all our custom examples and demos that use the SDK as a baseline.

Start with Out of Box demo.

Thank you very much. I am now able to configure the chirp in the mmWave Estimator. How can I flash it after saving my configuration? Is it also possible to set up a Triangular FMCW Radar with this tool?
Best Regards,
Daniel
Hello Daniel,
When a radar demo is flashed to the chip, it waits until a valid configuration is sent over the COM port before starting to chirp. If you have attempted the Out of Box demo, I recommend moving on to the Applications Visualizer and trying 3D People Tracking. Here you will get more familiar with high end performance and processing possible on chip. You can change the chirp parameters of one of the default 3D People Tracking configurations to adjust it as you want.

Triangular is not supported.
