IWR6843ISK: BSS firmware version 0.0.0.0

Part Number: IWR6843ISK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DCA1000EVM, , IWR6843

Tool/software:

Hello,

I have bought a IWR6843ISK and connected it to a DCA1000EVM card.  Right now , I am trying to use the RadarAPI from mmWave Studio 2.1.1.0, everything works fine until I load the BSS FW, because the version is 0.0.0.0 and the firmware version is NA. I am flashing the bin file radarss bin file that came with the mmWave Studio version. This is an issue as well, because if I try flashing the MSS FW, the application freezes.

I hope you can tell me why this happens and where to get a proper version of it.
Thank you very much,
Best Regards.

Daniel

  • Hello Daniel,

It would be good to click on the "View" tab and open the "Output" log so that you can see the log of everything that happens when you click a button. You should be getting an error such as "Error: Connection failed: Calling_ConnectTarget returned 3" printed here. Below is the DCA1000 FAQ post that will have more information on common errors and resources you can use to help get started.

  • Dear Pedhrom,

I have checked the output, but I don't get such an error. It just loads the software as expected, but the logs do not show any error, just a warning when I get some warnings, because I have tried with both baudrates. I will look at the FAQ you just sent me.

    Best Regards,

    Daniel

  • Dear Pedrhom,
I got no error in the end but it seems the switches were wrong. Looking at the user guide again I saw the switches were wrong. In case anyone needs it in the future I leave the link here https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?a=1AslXXD__2.20.00.05&node=A__AGTrhNYW8jE6cMxbovlfaA__radar_toolbox__1AslXXD__2.20.00.05
