IWR1843: Reference Temperature Sensor for Gain Temperature LUT

Part Number: IWR1843

Tool/software:

Hello,

I would like to inquire in detail about the questions in the thread(iwr1843-reference-temperature-for-txgaintemplut).

I have reviewed the document (spracf4) mentioned in the responses. It states that temperature sensors located near the TX and RX channels are used for boot-time calibration and run-time calibration, but there does not seem to be any mention of the temperature sensors used during LUT generation.

Regarding the IWR1834, please answer the following questions.

Question 1:
Is the average value of the seven sensors (TX0-2, RX0-3) used for boot-time calibration and run-time calibration? Does this mean the PM and DIG0, DIG1 temperature sensors are not used?

Question 2:
Is the average value of the seven sensors (TX0-2, RX0-3) also used for gain LUT generation? Or, is the Rx Gain LUT based on the average value of temperature sensors RX0-3, and the Tx Gain LUT refers to the temperature sensor values for each Tx channel to match the gain LUT software structure?

Question 3:
Are the PM and DIG0, DIG1 temperature sensors not used for the self-calibration function or any other BSS controls?

Best Regards,
Yasuaki

  • Hello.

I am looking into this and will provide an update by the end of the day Wednesday.

    Sincerely,

    Santosh

    You are correct for Q1.

For Q2, I believe the Rx Gain is based only on the Rx sensors, while Tx power is only based on Tx sensors.

For Q3, these sensors should be monitored along with the RF ANA temp sensors to ensure device temperature doesn't exceed the maximum supported temperature.

    Sincerely,

    Santosh
