DCA1000EVM: Inconsistent FPGA Boot – FPGA_DONE_LED Not Lighting, No Ethernet, Zero Files Captured

As a start make sure you are familiar with the DCA1000 FAQ E2E post. That said, what sort of software error are you getting when attempting capture? Are you using mmWaveStudio? DCA1000 ADC Capture CLI tool?

Hi, 

I am using mmWave studio. And I have attached the image of the DCA1000 board. In the board:

eeprom_rd_fail is red
hdr_err is red
lvds_path_err is red
fpga_err is red
ddr_full is red
sd_Full is red

others are green and no light is off

After following https://www.ti.com/video/5827389052001?cu=1128486 this. I got this error in mmwave studio.

Can you show me the setup with the Radar Sensor attached? And have you tried reflashing the FPGA in case of corruption? Instructions on how to do so can be found in the DCA1000 PDF User Guide.

I have reflashed the fpga and now my FPGA_ERR and LVDS_PATH_ERR LEDs are red. I tried to capture the data thinking that once it starts collecting the data these errors will go but my mmwave studio output is this. 

One more thing. My ethernet connection is working fine because I am getting replies from 192.168.33.30

What kind of configuration are you sending to the sensor? Are you sure it is a valid chirp configuration that you are using as input parameters within mmWaveStudio? Such as the Chirp, Frame, and Profile parameters in the SensorConfig tab.

Hi Pedrhom,

After switching to a different DCA board now I see this and according to the knowledge I gained from TI online resources, the DCA board configuration is fine and should have no problem. I have also checked the standalone IWR6843ISK working on mmWave Demo Visualizer where it is capturing the data completely fine. 

Now the problem is about my RS232 Connectivity. Here are the logs of my mmWave studio.

And here is my device manager showing all the ports

I have checked if COM7 is used by another application or not and here is the screenshot of that

My questions:

1. What am I doing wrong here?

2. Currently I am using the .bin file xwr68xx_mmw_demo.bin which is located at C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_03_05_00_04\packages\ti\demo\xwr68xx\mmw. Do I need to change it or is this right?
