DCA1000EVM: DCA1000EVM Issues

Part Number: DCA1000EVM

Tool/software:

Dear TI,

I purchased two DCA1000EVM boards last June and I am now having issues with them working as follows:

1) One board was working but now has stopped, when plugged in the 5V LED turns on but none of the other LEDs - the board is not recognised by mmwave studio.

2) The other board was kept as a backup but when tested this does not work - the 5V LED turns on and so does the FPGA LED, but mmwave studio does not recognise the board.

When plugged in both boards heat up and are very hot. Note that this has been tested with the correct power supplies.

Accordingly, based on these issues, I am messaging to claim on the warranty. Note that I have the appropriate proof of purchase.

Kind regards,

Chris Gilliam

  • Hello Chris,

Them getting hot is normal. What device are you using? If using a 6432 5V 2.5A may be sufficient as well as far as heat dissipation goes, but should not be causing issues. Do a quick check of the DCA1000 FAQ E2E Post, you say that the board is not recognized by mmWaveStudio, but are the DevPack ports showing up in Device Manager? If so, what error do you exactly get within mmWaveStudio?

    Best Regards,

    Pedrhom
