TMAG6181-Q1: Schematic design support need

Part Number: TMAG6181-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: THS4561, TLV9062-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi expert,

My customer (Enpower) is designing the schematic of TMAG6181-Q1, and they want to refer the TMAG6181-Q1EVM design. They are two questions of the design:

  • Why we need THS4561 in TMAG6181-Q1EVM? Can we cancel the amplifier in schematic?
  • Enpower needs automotive amplifier, could they use TLV9062-Q1? Or could you recommend a suitable automotive amplifier to replace THS4561?

Best Regards,

Ryker

  • Besides, My customer use 5V MCU, so they don't need the amplifier to adjust the voltage range.

  • Hi Ryker,

The amplifier is left over from an earlier revision of the EVM and is not required for typical usage anymore. If the customer's ADC accepts a differential input at 5Vpp, they can exclude the amplifier.

With regards to replacing the THS4561 in your customer's design, the TLV9062-Q1 in a biased difference amplifier configuration looks like a good option if the goal is to convert the differential signal into a single-ended output. If you want to use the device for another application, or you need more information on the performance of the device, I'd recommend posting a question on the amplifiers forum.

    Thanks!
