TMP103: Hold Time data at 100khz

Part Number: TMP103
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP118

Tool/software:

Hi TI team,

The datasheet tmp103 requires the hold time SDA in range 20ns - 400ns for Fast mode.

But if in 100khz, standard mode, the hold time sda normally is in range 0-3.45us.

So does TMP103 still apply 20-400ns at 100khz?

Thanks.

  • Hello Tu,

Fast-Mode is the default mode for the TMP103 so the 20-400ns Data Hold time range would still apply here.

  • Hi Harry,

    Nice to meet you.

As you see, the hold time <400ns is quite strictly for 100kps operation. If are there problem if the hold time is greater than 400ns when working at 100kbps?

Beside that, I saw some other TI components even don't require upper limit at 400kps, such as TMP118...

I'm curious which reason makes this difference between TI components at 400kps.

    Regards.

  • Tu,

There shouldn't be an issue if you exceed the maximum hold time so long as no other parameters are violated.

    Harry
