Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSS4470
Tool/software:
Hi,
We want to use ultrasonic sensor. Is procuring TUSS4440 is enough to make it work with ESP32? Also, how many dataframes can we expect in a second for detecting 2 m object detection
Hi Karunakar,
Thank you for posting to the Sensors forum!
Depending on what voltage levels the ESP32 supports, you may need to use a level shifter. Additionally, something else to consider is that TUSS4440 requires at least 5 V, which your circuitry must be able to support. You’ll also need a transducer as well.
As mentioned in one of your previous posts, linked below, the sample rate will depend on the record length (see the thread linked here for information on how to set the record length).

Thanks Alicia. We ordered TUSS4470 and PUI AUDIO, INC. / UTR-1440K-TT-R. Are these compatible. Also, i can see TUS4470 requires 3.3V. Can you confirm
Hi Karunakar,
Both the TUSS4440 and the TUSS4470 require 5V at minimum for the power supply on VPWR pin in order to sufficiently power the device. The voltage required for VDD (the voltage regulator for internal digital logic), on the other hand, can operate with 3.3V.
Regarding the UTR-1440K-TT-R, this is the same one that is used with our EVM, so they are definitely compatible.

Thanks Alicia. Do we require transformer as well? Also, any other components required to make it run with separte processing unit with UTR-1440K-TT-R and TUSS4440
Also, can you provide any PCB reference design
Hi Karunakar,
You will need a transformer.
The design files below are for a smaller, simpler TUSS4470 (which you can use for the TUSS4440 as well) reference design that you can use to help with development.
