Dear all.

Our customer is testing by EVM now.
However, the measurment distance is less than 1.5 m.

Do you have any data of TDC1011 mesurment distance?
Are we able to add an amplifier and increase the distance?

Not sure what a "cart" applcation is?
Is this an application for sensing distance in the air or liquids etc?
If this is targeting air distance sensing we don't have an app note or reference design for that as I cover in the followng E2E post.

Sorry but we don't have an EVM or reference design to address that application at this time. I would suggest you look at PGA450 to address that.

Pan-m,
In general we recommend the PGA450 for "proximity" opportunities that operate in air for distances over 1m due to the higher transducer excitation voltages required to receive any signal in air.

The important distinction for proximity is that the return echo strength can vary so much between object to object or even just the objects angle to the transducer. Because of that large variance it really is just a SNR issue. So the harder you can excite the transducer (>100V) the better the chance you will create an echo you can detect.

They are correct that additional receive chain gain "may" help with sensitivity but at some point your just amplifying noise.

I understood that PGA450 is good for distance.
However, PGA450 is expensive and the power consumption is also big.
This is battery application.
Therefore our customer hopes for support of TDC1011.
