My desired application is level sensing from outside of and on top of plastic ingredient tanks/barrels. The plastic is about 2-4mm in thickness, and the liquid beneath will be a minimum of 1 in. away from the top of the tank when it is full to 36 in. away for most empty tanks and 45. in away for other empty tanks.
I am looking to use an ultrasonic level sensing solution that will be battery-powered and with resolution/accuracy around 4mm. What transducer would be recommended to be used with the TDC1000,or is the TDC1000 not suitable for those distances through air? Also, is the TDC1000-TDC7200EVM the best way to test the scenario or is there another or cheaper way, such as somehow using a TDC1000 with a MSP430/432 Launchpad?
