TDC1000-TDC7200EVM: Several questions

Part Number: TDC1000-TDC7200EVM

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask TDC1000?

<Question1>
Is the voltage of TX1 VDD?

<Question2>
Does the setting value of GUI change automatically using transducer?
We think there is no this function.

<Question3>
According to the setting of TIMING_REG, WAIT/ECHO_LISTEN is possible to extend.
Is there limit for the range?

<Question4>
On our customer's setting file, there is no wave form after 1.4ms.
TIMING_REG is the maximum value, however wave form dissapear after 1.4ms.
If you have some advice, could you let us know?

  • Hello Hirotaka-san,

    1. The Tx voltage swing is from 0.32V to VDD-0.32V

    2. The GUI will not automatically change to reflect the transducer being used. You will need to reset the settings to account for new transducers.

    3. The WAIT/ECHO_LISTEN period is equal to (TIMING_REG[9:0]-30)*8*T0, where T0 is the period of the input clock (not the selected Tx frequency). So this depends on the frequency of the input clock.

    4. Is there a stop pulse being generated from that pulse at 1.4ms? The registers are currently set to only count 1 stop pulse. If a stop is detected, then the receive circuitry will shut down. Try changing NUM_RX to 5 stops or "No RX event count" to allow more stops to go through.

    Regards,
