AWR1642: mmWave Demo Visualizer supporting to change the user input knobs in the CONFIGURE tab by using the LOAD CONFIG FROM PC AND SEND button

Part Number: AWR1642

Current version of the mmWave Demo Visualizer does not support to change the user input knobs in the CONFIGURE tab by using the LOAD CONFIG FROM PC AND SEND button.

Is there plan this feature to be supported?

I hope that both this feature and another feature (reading back current configuration from device) discussed below will be supported.

  • Hi Maeda-san,

Are you looking for an API that can readback the configuration from the device as part of the safety feature?

Or are you looking to have some button on the visualizer to read the configuration from the device?

    Thanks,
    Raghu
  • Hi Raghu-san,

I would like to have some button on the visualizer to read the configuration from the device.

Is the feature to read the configuration from the device by the visualizer unsafe?

Is it not also possible to support the feature as the title of this thread?

It does not require a read back to change the user input knobs in the CONFIGURE tab by using the LOAD CONFIG FROM PC AND SEND button.

    Best regards,

    Daisuke

  • Hello Daisuke-san,

As you already know there is no support for this in the current SDK release.

If you would like to write your own code , there are API's  in the mmWaveLink to read few of the configurations from the device.

    Please refer to $mmWave_sd_install\packages\ti\control\mmwavelink\include\rl_sensor.h .

This includes the API's rlGetFrameConfig(), rlGetChirpConfig(), rlGetProfileConfig() which will read the frame config, chrirp config and the profile config respectively from the device.

We can take this feedback to see if we can add a button in visualiser in our upcoming SDK releases.

    Thanks,

    Raghu

  • Hi Raghu-san,

    Thank you for your reply.

I will expect your feedback to see if the feature to read the configuration from the device can be added in visualiser. If it is impossible, I hope that another feature which saves settings of the user input knobs and forms in the CONFIGURE tab will be added in visualiser.

    Best regards,

    Daisuke
