Hi,
In mmWave Sensing estimator, I am trying to use IWR1443 in long range mode. I have the following observations:
1. It does not consider Simultaneous Transmit mode in the TX
2. It doesnot consider only real data to be captured by ADC.
I am considered about these, because, if I consider these my sampling rate is better, and I can achieve large range, range resolution and max velocity.
My question is , whether these two observations are true??
and whether my assumption that if I consider them I can get larger range and velocity??
Thanks in Advance,

Hello Santhana,
Thanks for you interest.
Yes, you are correct on both counts.
1. The sensing estimator does not consider simultaneous transmit mode in the TX. However, you can replicate the generated configurations for multiple Tx chirps but you will need to account for this on the Rx side.
2. Yes, you are correct. However, there is only marginal gain in using real data vs complex. In the implemented architecture, with complex ~90% of the bandwidth can still be achieved. For reference please see this previous thread: https://e2e.ti.com/support/sensor/mmwave_sensors/f/1023/t/595667
In general, there will be a trade off between achieving improved range and velocity since they are inversely related. Using the sensing estimator you can tune to achieve a a balance between the parameters of interest to you. Chirps with decreased slope will enable greater max range while decreased idle time will increase max velocity.
