Part Number: TDC1000-GASEVM

Hi there,

I am currently trying to set up the TDC1000 - GASEVM with two 200 kHz transducers. The transducers are seperated by ~ 5 cm and transmit through air. Right know, I even struggle to see the basic operations at the STOP and COMP_IN pins. The only thing that I manage to see is the START pulse and a number exciting pulses at J1 of the BESTEVM board accourding to my settings in the software. The pulses have the right frequency.

At the VCOM and COMP_IN pin I measure 2V. At the STOP pin, nothing is happening.

I tried to find answeres via this forum (e.g. https://e2e.ti.com/support/sensor/ultrasonic/f/991/t/611962 ) and Google and played around with the settings. However, I did not manage to see anything meaningful.

Maybe you could have a look on my settings and check if there might some errors or if my problems might have other causes.

    Hello,

    It looks like the echo timeout control is set too low and the TDC1000 is timing out the measurement before the pulse reaches the receiving transducer. I would raise it to the maximum value for initial testing. Please refer to this diagram from the datasheet for a better understanding of how the settings affect the measurement time period:
