The recommended operating temperature is from -40C to 110C for LM35C. The device is guaranteed to perform under this condition.

I would recommend operating within these limits.

What would happen at 130C? Will there be a complete failure or just wrong readings?

Do,

We specified the 150°C in abs max, which mean that the device can withstand and functional up to 150°C. The device can still work up to 150°C; however, we have only characterized and specified LM35C up to 110°C. If the customer take the device beyond 110°C then we are not guaranteed the performance. TI will not responsible if they take outside of the specs.
