NEW WEBINAR: Traffic Monitoring and Detection

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642BOOST, IWR1642

I encountered the following problem when I used Traffic Monitoring Demo to test AWR1642BOOST.
The link to the demo is:
dev.ti.com/.../
When I finished the 3rd stepProblem Description.docx Run the Lab, after I click start button, the second figure as shown below didn’t appear. Instead, there is an error message like the third figure.

    Hello,

Thank you for providing the detailed problem description information. It appears that the COM port is not available. Can you ensure that you have clicked Connect after entering in your COM port numbers? The message below should say that the COM port is connected. Also please check that you have already removed the SOP2 jumper before connecting the ports. Please let me know whether this resolves your issue or not.

    Thanks,

    Amanda

    Hello Steven,

I appreciate the document - it is very helpful in debugging. What Industrial Toolbox Version you are using and what version if IWR1642 device you are using?I believe from the cfg file that you are using Industrial Toolbox Version 2.3.1 which is only compatible with ES2.0 devices. This may be causing the error.

Do you know whether you have ES1.0 or ES2.0 device? If your IWR1642 device has a white sticker that says "ES2.0" then it is an ES2.0 device (referring to the silicon revision number). If there is no sticker then it is an ES1.0 device. To run traffic monitoring for ES1.0 you need an older version of the lab. If you have an ES1.0, Industrial Toolbox Version 2.3.0 is required. The Traffic Monitoring lab inside this package is version 2.0 and is compatible with mmWave SDK V1.1.0.2 and ES1.0 devices.

To access this version please do the following:

Please let me know if this resolves your issue or not.

    Thanks,

    Amanda

  • Thank you , let me try again !
