Hi ,
I have four question,please help.
Q1.Traffic Monitoring Demo must use IWR1642 ES2.0 , I can't see white sticker that says "ES2.0" in my EVM board ,So the IWR1642BOOST is ES1.0?

Q2.What different with the ES1.0 and ES2.0 (performance or ) ?
Q3.www.ti.com/.../IWR1642BOOST
the link is ES1.0 or ES2.0
Q4.about People Counting Demo , I have experment some config , the max distance is 14m , do your team have try more then 14m config file (20m?40m?).

Hi Melvin,

1) You have an ES 1.0 - This is fine, and all software is available on ES 1.0 in the mmWave Industrial Toolbox 2.3.0. This is available for download on TIREX.
2) Some hardware bugs have been removed in the ES2.0. There should not be noticeable performance differences between the two boards for People Counting or Traffic monitoring.
3) If you were to order a new IWR1642BOOST, you would receive an ES2.0, or whaterver the latest revision is.
4) We will be releasing longer range configs on TIREX in June.

1) Can traffic monitoring detect people?
2) about answer 4 ,will be releasing longer range configs on TIREX in June.
a. for pplcount program?
b. how far about (m) ?
c. how can I know if your release the config ? the date will release before mid-June or later?

Hi Melvin,

1) Yes, Traffic Monitoring can detect People - the tracking algorithm is almost identical. However, the point cloud is generated differently in Traffic Monitoring.
2) a) These configs will work with People Counting.
b) Currently, a 30m config is planned.
c) The release will be first half of June.

We had just ordered an AWR1642BOOST recently, but it is still Rev. A. Who should we contact to replace or get a Rev. B?

Hi Tao,

Our current demos are still available for the ES1.0 EVMs, but we recommend upgrading to the latest ES2.0 devices.

If replacement of AWR1642BOOST Rev. A with Rev. B is not in your policy, then how to change the hardware of Rev. A to make it work with CAN bus, is it the same as AWR1443BOOST? The document I can get is for Rev. B. I cannot find the manual for Rev. A.

The Rev B manual should enable you too get CAN working on Rev A.

Hello Justin, in the Rev B manual, only switch S2 is mentioned on switching between SPI and CAN. There is no info on how to change the hardware to make it work with CAN bus.

Hello Justin,
This guide is for software, my question is on how to revise the EVM hardware to make it can work with CAN as in AWR1443BOOST, to populate some resistors and to remove some other resistors.
