TMP102: The time required for the TMP102 to boot up

Dear Sir/Ms.

Because some parameters of the customer need to be set according to the temperature that the thermal sensor reads, and as soon as possible, the better,

Now that the SoC starts reading data from the thermal sensor after power on, it reads a value of 0 degrees from the beginning and reads the correct value after some time.

Because we applied at -40~85 degrees, so at the beginning of reading 0 degrees, FW can not determine whether it is correct

So I want to ask the following questions

1. TMP102 "How long after power on" can read the first correct temperature data
2. Is there any register that confirms that the thermal sensor is ready?

Hi Kami,

The first temperature result is available one Conversion Time after power on. This is specified as 26ms typ and 35ms max on page 4 of the datasheet.

Hi Weide,

Our temperature sensors are slave devices which do not initiate communication. The ALERT pin allows the device to signal to the host that it needs attention. This is used to passively notify that temperature has exceeded a limit. If you set the limit very low, ALERT would be asserted at the end of every temperature measurement. The host could use this signal to query the device for temperature data, and then clear the ALERT status.
