AWR1642: Why doesnot the CAN driver test program work in TX/RX modes?

hi,

we try to test the can bus of AWR1642 boost.

However the "selection 4: TX/Rx" does not work well.

It has always error in transit and receive.

Could you test this unit and solve this problem?

We have check the board, and put the 0 ohm resistor on the board.

Hi Kang,

I also try to use CAN interface.
According to the document (swru508b.pdf), R11 and R12 resisters must be populated with 0 ohm, and R4, R6, R28 and R63 resistors must be removed.
Did you remove those registers?

Hi Kevin,

the circuit is checked as you said. however, we can still run the test cases of first three.

the 4th selection has not yet run correctly.

Could you see whether the CAN driver for AR1642 boost is not tested?

As I knew, AR1443 has the same problem before.

Hi Kang,

I misunderstood your question.
I thought you couldn't run any CAN functions so I suggested to modify your circuit.
Well, you can run the first three test cases but can't run the 4th.
Now we need help from TI experts.

This issue seems to be similar to the problem discussed in the following thread. As defined here, could you please check if there's activity on the CAN bus using an oscilloscope?

Hallo Nithin,

we havenot seen any signal from the CAN bus.

So I just doubt that the CAN driver test program in mode 4 does not work correctly.

Could anyone from TI help?

Hello Kang,

Please refer to the “Appendix A.4” in this App Note for the “ECO’s on AWR1642BOOST” for external Tx/Rx to be functional.
