IWR1642BOOST: How to create config files for chirp params in mmW sensor demos, e.g., people counting

I'm using the IWR1642BOOST ES2.0,  Industrial Toolbox 2.5.0, mmW Sensing Estimator 1.2.0, mmW Demo Visualizer 2.0.0, and CCS 8.1.0.  Windows 10 OS.

The people counting demo seems to work fine by flashing the binaries and through CCS Debug mode. 

In the setup window of the people counting demo, there is an option to Load Chirp Config, as well as other demo specific parameters.  

1) How do I create my own chirp configuration files? mmW Sensing Estimator creates a .json file, but this does not seem to be the correct format expected by the demo.

2) If the mmW Sensing Estimator does not save appropriate .cfg files for chirp configuration, what is the intended workflow for that tool?  how do i make use of that .json file it creates?

3) The mmW Demo Visualizer does make a .cfg file that appears to the correct format, but also includes other demo specific parameters which i assume would not be appropriate for other demos. Is Demo Visualizer usable for other demos?

Sorry for all the noob questions.  I'm new to the TI tools and haven't done any serious hands-on HW work in a while, so please don't skip any details :).
