HDC2010: Sensitivity of HDC2010 to gases in terms of drift in humidity measurements

Is there any data available on any effects of measurement drifts permanent or temporary due to effects of exposure to gases while measuring humidity.

This gases could be in the vicinity of the device.

It could also be due to long term storage (months) of the device in high humidity environment.

Hi PrasadP,

No, we don't have data for exposure to specific gases.

The polymer which acts as the humidity transducer is known to become saturated under conditions outside the recommended operating range. Activating the on-board heater for a short time may help to alleviate some problems. The heater should be disabled during normal operation.

Thanks for the thoughts. we are trying the heater.

Any ideas what is normally a good time for heating sensor ?

Can we know the heater action from the internal tempetrature sensor ?

Hi Prasad,

I'm sorry, but we don't have a lot of guidelines for the heater. you will have to experiment to see if it is beneficial for your situation.

Yes, you will see temperature rise due to the heater.
