TDC1000: Everything You Need to Know for Ultrasonic ToF (Liquid-Coupled) [Collateral, Tools, Designs, FAQ]

Part Number: TDC1000

Another general question on the use of the TDC1000.

If I need to drive my transducer harder ( higher voltage), do you have any app. notes on how to do this?

I would assume a transformer could boost the output, but I am still limited to the maximum power your device can drive.

I could include a FET between your part and the transformer and tie one side of the primary side to a higher voltage, this would allow me to boost the output even more.

Relative to the receiver, looks like input should be protected. This beacuse I will still have the receiver connected to transducer and it would see the higher "boosted" output.

Thinking a couple of signal diodes bk-bk , maybe bring in  the signal through a resistive divider.

Any comments on this approach?

Thanks for your help.
