IWR1642: IWR1642 Sample Rate

Hi, when I captured raw data with DCA1000 on IWR1642 EVM, I found that the 'Sample Rate' can be set to 12.5MHz with 'Complex 2x' ADC configuration, but IWR1642 can only support maximum complex sample rate 6.25Mhz. So how can I understand that? Thanks

Hi,

IWR1642 supports Complex 1x and Complex 2x sampling modes. Please refer to the following post for more details on these:

AWR1642BOOST: Complex 1x and Complex 2x Modes

The default profile configuration provided in the SDK OOB demo uses complex 1x mode but you can enable complex 2x sampling by changing the adcOutputFmt in the adccfg command in the configuration file. Please refer to the MMWAVE-SDK user guide and search for adccfg for details.

thanks for you response. I know that IWR1642 support complex 1x, complex 2x and real ADC mode, but I confuse the sample rate in complex 2x mode can be set more than 6.25MHz. However, the maximum sample rate is 6.25MHz in complex mode in IWR1642 datasheet page 36.

Hi,

The maximum supported sampling rate for IWR1642 is 6.25 Msps in complex mode (complex 1x or 2x) and 12.5Msps in real mode as mentioned in the data sheet. Sampling rates above the maximum specified in the datasheet are not officially supported (and performance is not guaranteed) even if allowed by MMWAVE-STUDIO.
