TDC1000: Different results with and without TS3A44159

I am using TDC1000 and TDC7200 for water flow metering. For zero flow i am getting close to zero ΔTOF (0.1-0.4ns).

Trying to take the ΔTOF even closer to zero i connected as in the picture attached the TS3A44159 chip.

When i start the cycle of triggering the transducers with a low on PINS 8 and 16 (of TS3A44159), the ΔTOF i am getting now for zero water flow is 900ns.

When i start the cycle of triggering the transducers with a high on PINS 8 and16 (of TS3A44159), the ΔTOF i am getting now for zero water flow is -900ns.

Why am i getting such a different result from zero and why does the result change from 900ns to -900ns?
