IWR6843: Uniflash 4.3 and Mac OS Mojave 10.14 not working

When trying to flash the IWR6843BOOST board using Uniflash 4.3.0.1802 on Mac OS Mojave 10.14 I find that it hangs before programming.

The software is able to 'discover' the correct board, and the USB connection enumerates correctly as /def/tty.usbmodem1 and /dev/tty.usbmodemR0051028, however the software hangs once I click 'Start'.

I notice quite a few similar reports on the forum.

Is this a problem my end, or is there an issue with Uniflash support for Mac OS?

Hello Nitin,

thanks for the fast reply. I just updated to 4.6.0.2176 but see the exact same behaviour.

I am not able to flash devices as uniflash simply hangs once I click "Start".

This has become a bit of a blocking point in our development, so any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Are there any simpler alternatives to Uniflash?

Hi Akash,
I don't receive an error message, Uniflash simply hangs once I click the 'Start' button in the "Autodetect" pane.
The device I have is an IWR6843BOOST.
I have tried to upload a photo but the website seems to hang when I click rply - so I have reverted to this text-only response.

Hi James,

I'll need more information in order to assist you. Would you be able to post a screenshot of where it is hanging? This can provide some insight for us to debug this issue.

In order to post a screenshot click the "Insert Code, Attach Files and more..." link next to the reply box and then click on the "Insert/Edit Media" button in order to attach an image.

Have you followed flashing instructions from the SDK User Guide? dev.ti.com/.../

Hi James,

Does this still happen if you manually select the IWR6843 manually from the "New Configuration" Menu? It should be listed under the category "mmWave."

There is no IWR device listed under mmWave - nor does there seem to be a means to update the database..

Hi James,

It appears there are 7 devices listed as available (7 Available). Does this not let you select the IWR6843?

I have confirmed the issue in Mojave (appropriate team has been notified about bug).

One thing that I would recommend to try is using the CLI version of Uniflash LINK.

I have not used it, but it might provide a workaround.
