Hi Zach,

While the TDA2x cascade radar host design uses AEC qualified components to aid the designer in BOM selection, the system itself is only intended for open-air, indoor, lab usage. It is not a full automotive solution. No attempt has been made to manage the expected closed chassis thermal load expected in an automotive use-case.

Randy,

Can you share the measured current at 12 volts in your open air lab bench when the cascade radar is active given this will vary some depending on exact configuration?

Hi Zach,

Running a TDMA-8 MIMO use-case from the RadarSDK, I see peaks of ~1A on the primary 12V rail. That is the peak current for the RF and TDA2 host boards combined during this scenario.
