AWR1243: Program the MSS in AWR1243

Part Number: AWR1243

Hi,

There is no documentation by TI which claims there are two R4s in AWR1243.but the below points contradicts with this:

1. But the Radar studio requires pre-built MSS file to be flashed in AWR1243 EVM.

2. The mmWave DFP/link also configures RSS, MSS and then config file into AWR1243 chip from a host processor.

3. Even though UART seems to work, the SPI lines does not work without this porting of MSS. UART might be coming from the ftdi chip (XDS110) at the back of the EVM and not from the sensor directly.

So my questions is in two ways here

a) Is my understanding and suspicion correct? if Not, What am I missing?

b) If I use xWR1443 device setting in mmWave SDK to compile the binary and try to port it into MSS of AWr1243 (using radar Studio), will it work.

Sorry, this question is actually a continuation of my earlier question. Due to some delay in repsonding the old thread is locked an I am posting a new uestion.

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

The AWR1243 is not a programmable sensor. This is the reason why it is not supported by the mmwave SDK and there is no TRM for it. There should be no need for a customer to modify firmware that is loaded to the AWR1243.

    thank you
