AWR1243: AWR1243P cascade system

Hi,

For mmWave DFP, "AWR_MONITOR_PMCLKLO_INTERNAL_ANALOG_SIGNALS_REPORT_AE_SB" API reports the status of incoming LO clock (page 180 ICD document). My question is:

1. What exactly would be the error code in the case when a slave is receiving LO vs it is not receiving LO?

2. Can I use this check to set a debug LED on a custom PCB evaluation board which glows when the LO is flowing perfectly from master to slave? If yes, how?

Error code is for debug purpose only, it does not provide binary info like LO is ON or Off.

No. however, The LO power reported in monitoring message can be used to perform this check in host.

Can you let me know which monitoring messages are you referring to in the case where I use mmWave studio for cascade communication?

Hi Kshitiz,

AWR1243 device has a monitoring feature to monitor LO distribution which can be configured using below SBID

Sub block 0x01D7 – AWR MONITOR PMCLKLO INTERNAL ANALOG SIGNALS CONF SB

Refer Interface Control Document (ICD) for this API.

Note- For Cascade, this monitoring feature is being verified under the limited scenario.
